Robert Axle (Kevin Spacey) built a multi-million dollar business out of selling household gadgets through television infomercials, and managed to alienate nearly everyone around him when fame and wealth turned him into an arrogant loudmouth. Camilla plays his daughter, Claire.

The day of the puppets has come at last (or so it would seem from recent news out of Hollywood.) In addition to the star-studded Muppet film The Greatest Muppet Movie Ever Made, we have some potential blockbuster casting news on the dark comic puppet film The Happytime Murders.

As we wrote in our first description of the film in October, the movie “depicts an alternate reality where puppets are sentient beings that live alongside humans. The puppets exist as “second class citizens” to the humans, and when the cast of an 80s puppet TV show, ‘The Happytime Gang,’ begin to turn up dead, an alcoholic ex-cop puppet turned private detective must solve the murders with his human ex-partner.”

All in all, it’s a pretty intriguing premise, and something that I would definitely be interested in seeing. Then again, I could listen to the soundtrack to Avenue Q everyday and never get tired of it, so I’m probably the ideal target for this movie.

Considering the somewhat unusual nature of the movie, could it click with general audiences? Perhaps, if you add a legit A-list star like Cameron Diaz. According to Vulture, Diaz has been offered a role in the film. There is no word yet on whether she has read the script or made a decision either way, but it’s still an interesting piece of news. For one thing, it begs the question of who Diaz might be playing.

In most crime movies, there’s a femme fatale character — somebody who cozies up to the lead and throws a wrench into his plans. Smart money says the role Cameron Diaz was offered fits into that category. On the other hand, the writers may have flipped the script and made a woman the human ex-partner, in which case Diaz could be up for that part.

Whatever the case, it’s nice to see a big name attached to such a unique project. Vulture has some details on the script and it sounds like the filmmakers are really shooting for an R-rating. That’s good to hear. Sometimes, with all of the mundane sequels, remakes, and retreads, it feels like nobody in Hollywood is willing to take a chance with their movie. The Happytime Murders could be an awesome movie that bucks that trend.

Brooke Hogan defied the 80-degree weather in Los Angeles yesterday and went ice skating at an outdoor rink.

The 22-year-old daughter of wrestling icon Hulk Hogan careered around on the ice effortlessly wearing tight jeans and a pink top.

She was apparently cheered on by her once-estranged mother with whom she had a difficult relationship with following her parent's divorce.

Brooke shot to fame on the back of her family's TV show, Hogan Knows Best, but after the collapse of her parent's marriage she moved into her own home in Miami, where she stars in the spin-off show, now in its second season.

Her attempts at a pop career have been ridiculed in the media, but this hasn't stopped Brooke from pursuing her ambition, followed by the cameras.

Brooke's mother Linda was involved in an acrimonious two-year battle with Hulk after filing for divorce in 2007 at the end of their twenty three years of marriage.

The split grew increasingly ugly when Linda publicly began dating Brooke's former classmate, 19-year-old Charlie Hill.

With her divorce from first husband Deryck Whibley finalised, Avril Lavigne is now free to enjoy life as a single woman.

But it seems she won't be hitting the nightclubs just yet - the singer is already enjoying domestic life with her new lover.

Get ready for fireworks: Brandi Glanville, Eddie Cibrian's ex-wife, says she is finally "going to go and sit down and talk" to LeAnn Rimes.

She made the announcement Thursday on the new daytime chatfest The Talk, USA Today reports.

On Wednesday (November 10), Avril Lavigne took to her official website to pen an open letter to fans, informing them that she has completed her new album. While the follow-up to 2007's The Best Damn Thing doesn't have a confirmed release date, the singer writes about the album and gives some insight as to why it has taken so long to hit shelves, even admitting she finished the project last year.

"I just wanted to fill you guys in. I'm done with my 4th record!" she writes. "Well, actually I have been done for a year and now my record company have finally decided to release it. OMG. How nice! Thanks guys."

Lavigne acknowledges her absence from the industry, revealing that she has infused herself into many aspects of the album, including writing and production.

"I have been dying to get back out on the road and do what I love the most ... PLAY MUSIC," she continues. "I know you guys have been waiting for a long time ... and so have I, but not by choice. I have been sitting with this record for a year now. It's really special to me. I have produced a couple tracks alone for the first time, written solo, with friends, I have pushed myself and I feel proud."

While the pop/rock songstress tried her hand as a producer for the first time, she also experienced some other not-so-pleasant first encounters.

"In saying all that, this has been a really difficult record for me to create and to release. Not only is this the most meaningful and special record I have written, it is sincere, honest and close to my heart," the post continues. "But for the first time I experienced a bunch of bureaucratic BS. People do their best work when they are doing what they want, love and is natural for them, not when you are forcing them to be something that they are not."

In what sounds like a sideswipe at her record label for holding on the LP, the Canadian singer reminds fans of the message she's promoted since the start of her career: "From the beginning of my career my message has always been to be yourself and stand up for what you believe in. Follow your heart."

But the 26-year-old ends on a high note by dishing details on the album's first single and the other projects on her plate.

"My first single off this record is called: 'What the Hell,' " she reveals. "This song is the least personal song to me off this album. It's a fun and funny anthem. It has a broad message about personal freedom. It is the most pop track on the record."

The singer reveals that she is scheduled to shoot a clip for the lead single in two weeks, with a January 2011 release date.

In addition to the album, Lavigne says she's concentrating on keeping a balance between her personal and professional life. "I have been extremely busy designing [my clothing line] Abbey Dawn and taking the line internationally for the first time, establishing 'The Avril Lavigne Foundation' and focusing on my personal happiness and health. Balance!"

While the singer has managed to keep her material from leaking onto the Internet, her 2002 hit single "I'm With You" has been making the blog rounds. Rihanna sampled the ballad for the party anthem "Cheers (Drink to That)" on her new album, Loud.

"The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" looks set to steal the show at January's People's Choice Awards in Los Angeles - the film has picked up the lion's share of nominations.

The sequel scored eight nominations to become one of only three movies to land multiple nods when the announcement was made on Tuesday.

The film will compete for favorite Movie and favorite Drama while its stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are nominated for the Favorite On-screen Team and favorite Actor and Actress categories.

Pattinson and Stewart are are also nominated among the favorite Movie Star Under 25.

Other multiple movie nominees include Robert Downey Jr., "Iron Man 2" and "Inception." "Iron Man 2" and "Inception" will also compete with the "Twilight" film for Best Movie, along with "Toy Story 3" and "Alice in Wonderland."

Meanwhile, Angelina Jolie will fight it out with Bradley Cooper, Jake Gyllenhaal, Robert Downey, Jr. and Jackie Chan for favorite Action Star.

Blood suckers are also taking a bite out of the small screen categories - "The Vampire Diaries'" Ian Somerhalder is nominated for favorite TV Drama Actor and his series is nominated for favorite TV Drama and favorite Sci-Fi Fantasy Show.

"True Blood" will go head-to-head with "The Vampire Diaries" for the Sci-Fi Fantasy title, and the drama is also up for favorite TV Obsession.

Elsewhere, musical comedy "Glee" is in the running for five awards, including favorite TV Comedy. "Glee" stars Matthew Morrison and Jane Lynch will be vying for the favorite TV Comedy Actor and Actress prizes, respectively, while Britney Spears and Neil Patrick Harris' cameos have earned the series a mention in the favorite TV Guest Stars category.

In the music categories, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry will compete for favorite Female Artist and Eminem, Usher and Enrique Iglesias are all up for favorite Male Artist.

"Kiss the Girls" co-stars Morgan Freeman and Ashley Judd have reunited for "Dolphin Tale," a film being shot in Florida, Warner Bros. said Wednesday.

Harry Connick Jr. and Kris Kristofferson also star in the Alcon Entertainment movie, inspired by the true story of a dolphin named Winter and the people who banded together to save its life, the studio said.

"The real Winter has served as an example of courage, perseverance and hope to people around the world, and we're hoping that the movie about her extraordinary rescue and recovery will also inspire, as well as entertain, audiences everywhere," producers Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove said in a joint statement.

"We are very excited to be filming 'Dolphin Tale' at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, the very place where her story unfolded. And we are also thrilled to be working with (director Charles Martin Smith) and our amazing cast. But, without a doubt, Winter is the one who has captured all our hearts. She is a star in every sense of the word," producer Richard Ingber said.
